In the middle of the charming old town of Malchow with restaurants, cafés, shops, a new promenade and a view of the swing bridge over Lake Malchow, the attic of a residential and commercial building has been lovingly and lavishly renovated over the last two years into a holiday apartment for up to 6 adults and 2 children (max. 12 years). The special feature of Malchow - part of the old town is an island that can only be reached via an earth dam and a bridge that opens every hour for boat traffic - can be experienced directly here. In summer, many guests travel here especially to watch the bridge opening (10 minutes before every hour on the hour during the day).
The tasteful, approx. 103 square metre, centrally heated non-smoking apartment (in keeping with the charm of the apartment, the old tiled stoves have been retained as decoration only) and equipped with insect screens is accessible via a shared staircase. It has a living room (sofa bed, sitting area, flat screen smart TV, W-LAN), two bedrooms (1x double bed, 1 x two single beds, 1 armchair bed each as an extra bed), a separate kitchen (dining table, electric cooker with oven, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, kettle, toaster, coffee machine) with adjoining utility room (washing machine, tumble dryer), a hallway and a bathroom, the highlight of which is a free-standing bath in addition to the illuminated, floor-level shower. The owner also offers discounts on boat trips with a local shipping company. Public parking spaces are available approx. 200 - 600 m away (approx. 5-8 minutes' walk), and you can stop briefly at the house for loading and unloading, taking into account the bridge times.
The total price includes final cleaning, bed linen, towels, electricity and water. To be paid on site: Tourist tax. Pets are not allowed in this property.
The small town of Malchow is a tourist gem in the centre of the Mecklenburg Lake District. It is also known as the island town, as the old town is surrounded by Lake Fleesensee and Lake Malchow and is connected by an earth dam and a listed swing bridge, which opens several times a day for boat traffic. There are also passenger boat moorings, a harbour, restaurants, cafés and shopping facilities. Other attractions include the monastery church, the town mill, a large bathing beach, a summer toboggan run, a monkey forest and a riding stables just outside the town, boat and bicycle hire directly in the town and wellness, sports and golf facilities at the nearby holiday resort Land Fleesensee.
